Easy BBQ Turkey
1 8-14 lb fresh turkey 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
1 large onion 2 teaspoons dried thyme
6 whole cloves Salt and pepper
1 teaspoon dried sage
Rinse and drain turkey, pat dry. Use a roasting pan large enough to hold turkey. Place
turkey in pan. Stuff onion with cloves. Place onion inside turkey. Sprinkle rest of
ingredients all over turkey pressing into skin. Tie turkey legs together. Pour about 1/2
inch of water into pan. Place 1 layer of heavy duty foil over turkey sealing well around the
edges. Place pan on barbecue. Cook over medium high heat 1 1/2 to 2 hours with lid
closed. Insert thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh. It should register 185 F.
Remove foil the last 10 minutes to brown skin. Remove from barbecue. Let stand tented
with foil 15 minutes, before carving. Make gravey from pan drippings. Add 1 cup water
to roasting pan scrapping the bottom. Season with salt and peppr. Serves 8-10.
